This is a bit of a 'way back when' moment...
One of the first paintings where texture became an important part of the narrative 'Colours Of Summer' is a step between my painted tissue collage period and where I'm at today with my highly textured Disappearing Lands series with texture that's inspired by my interest (obsession) in fossils.
That series focused on pollinators, their habitat and how it's disappearing. So not so different a focus.
In the early morning light Prairie Cone Flower glows like the sun still recalcitrant behind the morning mist. This earlier work of mine shows the genesis of my signature style.
